Newcastle Herald

Monday July 17, 2000

GATEWAY'S latest mobile computer, the Solo 9300, has become a mighty midget.

Soon after Intel announced the release of its fastest processor for notebooks, the Pentium III 750MHz, Gateway packed the hot chip into its notebook range.

Gateway said the new chip provided desktop-class performance in a portable system.

The new notebooks with Speedstep technology would easily handle computing and graphics-intensive applications, such as viewing and downloading web page images, viewing complex web pages, running multimedia-enhanced programs and multi-tasking, as well as graphic design, spreadsheet computation and database sorting. Technology includes MGI VideoWave III software as standard, which is geared for video editing, developing web content and multi-media gaming.

The 750MHz chip is available in Solo 9300 models featuring 15-inch or 15.7-inch displays.

Other features include 128MB SDRAM, 18GB removable hard drive, integrated 56K modem and DVD drive.

The Solo 9300 with 750MHz chip is on Gateway's direct order shelf from $6398 (15-inch screen), including GST.
